Zhangchi was born in China in 1989.

She graduated from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, USA, where she studied fashion and textile design.

She lived in Paris, France from 2012 to 2025, during which time she worked as a womenswear designer, first at Yves Saint Laurent, later at Celine and Givenchy.

She relocated to Düsseldorf, Germany with her family in 2026.
